Whether you're craving comforting Korean soups or classic dishes crafted with care, this spot delivers a satisfying experience that feels like a true taste of home.

The crown jewel of their menu is undoubtedly their Tofu House and Dol Sot Bi Bim Bob. Served sizzling in a hot stone bowl, the Dol Sot Bi Bim Bob combines an array of vibrant vegetables and silky tofu over perfectly steamed rice, paired with a side of chili pepper paste for that customizable kick. This dish is a soul-warming delight, especially when you savor the way the rice at the bottom crisps just right, marrying texture with bold flavors.

For those seeking variety, the Jap Chae offers sweet potato noodles stir-fried with vegetables and your choice of meat, delivering a harmonious balance of smoky and sweet notes. The Seafood Pancake here, while light on seafood, impresses with a satisfyingly crisp exterior that offers a delicate crunch with each bite. Fans of tofu will appreciate the Mushroom Tofu Stew, rich and comforting with an earthy depth that envelops your palate.

Meat lovers will find bliss in the Short Ribs, expertly tenderized and seasoned to perfection—transforming what can often be a tough cut into melt-in-your-mouth goodness that’s both savory and indulgent. The Korean Fried Chicken and Beef Galbi also deserve a shout-out for their crispy textures and flavorful marinades that encapsulate the essence of Korean comfort food.

The dining experience at Mr Tofu House is enhanced by thoughtful touches: complimentary hot tea served in a warming metal cup during colder months or refreshing ice water come summer, adding to the welcoming ambiance. Customers consistently praise the courteous, attentive service that makes every visit feel personal and relaxed.

Appetizers such as the Du Bu Jeon (pan-fried tofu with special soy sauce) and Kim Chi Pajeon (spicy kimchi pancake) set the tone for the meal with their vibrant flavors and satisfying textures. Real patrons have expressed delight in the balance of flavors—from perfectly crisp vegetable pancakes to the heartiness of spicy beef soups that are flavorful without overwhelming heat.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or settling in for a leisurely dinner, Mr Tofu House offers a comforting escape into Korean cuisine, marked by freshness, authenticity, and a homely vibe. It’s a place where you can feel the richness of tradition in every bite and the friendliness of genuine hospitality in every interaction.

9/1/24 This cute little place has a welcoming atmosphere and polite service. The banchan were delicious, offering a variety of flavors. The Seafood Pancake was a bit lacking in seafood, but it was crispy on the outside. The mushroom tofu stew was flavorful and satisfying. The short rib was exceptionally tender. It's usually a tough cut, but this one was cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. The japchae was a little too sticky for my preference, but overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

I am so glad I found this place! I was looking for a homey place to get Korean soups and this place was just that! The vegetable pancake so crisp. The bonchon was fresh. I got a spicy beef soup that was so good, not too spicy either. We will definitely be back!

Hot tea or ice water is available freely here, depending on the season, (usually hot tea up till June, then back in September?) When it's cold out, they serve tea in a metal cup that warms up nicely, and in the summer, ice water in a glass. Also, a milk tea (boba) selection is available only in the late summer, with a limited flavor section! I've sat here drinking so much hot tea, I've nearly fallen asleep (usually only 3 cups max lol) As for food, I can't help but order the same three lunch dishes in rotation here, because they are SOOO perfect. B16. 비빔밥 / Bibimbab, with chicken is best imo, or just extra tofu which is really good here B14. 닭불고기덮밥 / Dak Bulgogi Deop Bab (Chicken only) B13. 잡채덮밥 / Japchae Deop Bab, best with beef or pork for me You can choose your meat for two of these, or even order extra toppings I've recently started trying the Pan Fried Kimchi option instead of meat, and it goes so well... I recommend going for the chicken w any dish and asking for pan fried kimchi as an extra. About $3-4 for extra of any topping, worth it for lunch options. You'll still spend under $20 for a very filling meal If you really like bimbimbap, go for the Hot Stone bowl, dinner entree only, under F1. And don't skip the fried egg, you're missing out! Every bite of melted golden yolk over steamed white rice is a bite of heaven in any dish here

Went on a cozy fall night, it was superb. Lovely owner who was super friendly and welcoming. I had a classic hot tofu soup with dumpling and my sister had a regular spice level beef tofu soup. It came with a refreshing side of pickled vegetables to try and white rice. Tofu was soft and flavorful. The only complaint I had was it was sparse on meat and the dumpling. But other than that it was delicious and spectacular. Highly recommend for some authentic Korean cuisine.

Very low sodium for korean food lol but it seems adjusted for the Wayne demographic. As a Korean, I would find this place to be too bland, but this was perfect for traveling. Especially for a long drive. The auntie is so kind, we will come back when visiting the area again!

Very good food but on the simpler side. Yet, it's one of the better Korean restaurants in the northern NJ area. Classic NJ location, in a strangest strip mall by a railway track. Very decent kimchi. The proprietor is very sweet but appears to be managing the floor herself so service can be a bit slow. Definitely worth a visit.
